Essential Functions

Essential Functions:

 Assist in the identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of engineering knowledge, skill and abilities.

 Eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to human injury and/or property/product damage.

 Evaluate operations and initiate programs to ensure compliance with applicable EHS policies, regulations, principles and practices.

 Review proposed occupational safety policies, guidelines and standards to determine their consistency with accepted engineering principles and practices and recommend technical changes as needed.

 Coordinate and audit plant incident investigation process.

 Lead audit teams to identify pre-injury trends, determine compliance with established safety/health procedures and recommend appropriate actions.

 Perform follow up on corrective actions.

 Measure progress toward the attainment of plant safety goals using injury exposure as well as injuries/incidents as parameters.

 Plan, develop, revise/update, and deliver training programs to team members.

 Facilitate meetings, including, safety team meetings, problem solving teams/meetings, and EHS planning meetings.

 Facilitate and manage plant safety committee activities.

 Keep accurate and timely records and deliver reports, such as OSHA, RCRA, SARA, and EPA reports, per scheduled deadlines.

 Supervise plant compliance with established written programs.

 Participates and supports plant 5S + Safety program.

Major Duties

 Ensures Environmental compliance across the facilities within the EMAM Division through recording and submission of accurate and timely records as required by permits or state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

 4 year college degree required Educational emphasis in EHS preferred 2-5 Years of experience in manufacturing plant level EHS coordination.

 Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations. Team Building/Relationship building skills – Develops relationships with key people in other functions and at other levels.

 Results Orientation – Conveys a sense of urgency when appropriate and drives hard on the right issues.

 Sets Example – Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in all interactions.

 Communication – Keeps people up to date and speaks and writes effectively.

 Accident investigation and prevention experience; applied ergonomics skills.

 Team leadership skills – Stimulates others to take action and works towards win/win solutions.

 Excellent computer skills (Excel, databases, Word, Notes, web-based systems
