Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Reviews current backlog to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. 2. Using a computer performs incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy. 3. Ensures that all received goods are properly transacted into the computer system in a timely manner. 4. Packs orders in cardboard boxes and wooden crates as required to safely ship products to customers. 5. Prepares shipping labels via UPS and FedEx, affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. 6. Schedules pickups and prepares bill of lading for freight companies. 7. Operates Forklift truck and hand jacks to lift and move, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. 8. At times, overtime will be required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 1. Must possess High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 2. 2 years of shipping/receiving experience is required. 3. Ability to locate necessary items and paperwork easily. 4. Able to work independently, with minimal supervision and excellent time management skills. 5. Ability to multi-task. 6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals. 7. Ability to adjust quickly to changes in priorities. 8. Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player. 9. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization as well as outside services and at meetings. 10. Must be goal-driven, and highly motivated. 11. Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Windows.
