Our growing Advanced User Experienceteam is seeking a passionate and talented Product Designer to support our work using design thinking and user-centered methodologies to inform product innovation, including concepting, product definition, and design strategy development.

As a Product Designer , you would collaborate with designers, strategists, technologists, and business stakeholders to craft meaningful experiences for our customers through thoughtful design. The ideal candidate will have strong visual and interaction design skills, an understanding of and commitment to user-centered design methodologies, and have experience designing interfaces in the automotive space.

Description

Product Designers on the Advanced User Experience team will support a multi-disciplinary team focused on translating human needs into product concepts using iterative design and generative research methods. This work directly influences future products and services across all product channels.

Responsibilities

·Collaborate closely with team members to craft world-class user experiences across all products and platforms, in-vehicle and beyond

·Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to solve problems effectively

·Create effective interaction designs, being the champion of usability and user-centered design principles

·Facilitate workshops and collaborative design activities with stakeholders and users

·Measure and analyze user experience research and testing to validate designs, get user feedback, and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience

·Work with product owners and key stakeholders to brainstorm and identify opportunities, executing them as a flawless part of the overall user experience

·Advocate for collaborative design, design thinking, and an inclusive UX process

·Create deliverables to communicate your design work including sketches, diagrams, low-fi prototypes, wireframes, storyboards, and specifications

Requirements

·7+years’experience creating digital interfaces, large scale websites, or complex software applications across a range of channels (web, mobile, in-vehicle, etc)

·Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Product Design, or related studies

·Strong portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in user experience design, creativity and aesthetics, and depth of thought

·Successful track record for bringing products to market

·Open to feedback, knows how give and receive criticism, and how and when to defend design decisions

·Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills

·Experience working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work

·Ability to work collaboratively with other intelligent and talented types – no egos please

·Experience incorporating research into the design process, including contextual inquiry, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, etc

·Experience designing for human factors and/or the ability to design for multiple physical and digital modalities

·Proficient in common design tools like Axure, Illustrator, Photoshop, Balsamiq, and InDesign

Preferred Qualifications

·Master’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Product Design, or related studies

·Knowledge of design thinking methods and track record of successful application

·Ability to identify and apply technology to achieve design goals

·Prototyping experience (software and/or hardware development experience a plus)
