POSITION SUMMARY: .This position will support Insurance Operations in the development and delivery of claims training, and in improving business processes and providing proactive claims solutions that maximize efficiencies. The position mandates successful completion of all requirements of Fundamental Claims School, which includes obtaining an overall passing score.

Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values and ethics policies.
Plan, organize and develop training content curricula and materials
Create and present training and assistance to Claims employees to increase knowledge and skill.
Assist the Claims Organization by conducting field training at remote locations, as needed.
Research existing and emerging technologies and best practices in training to support the Insurance Operations Organization.
Identify course needs for Insurance Operations Organization and develop/modify course material including course outlines, instructor guides, student manuals, exercises, handouts, and other learning aids.
Develop process-specific, competency-based education programs in conjunction with subject matter experts that will include train the trainer and end-user programs, as assigned.
Integrate and deliver property insurance training programs (e.g., policy, estimatics, systems, workflows, statutes, etc).
Conduct classroom based training and Virtual Instructor led (VILT) for internal staff and external business partners using audiovisual aids, classroom lectures, and printed handouts.
Coordinate and finalize attendance rosters, grades and training activity reports.
Collect and analyze data via surveys regarding training courses and program effectiveness. Also, identify problem areas and make recommendations for course or program improvements.
Develop, maintain and update Citizens training and system materials, documentation manuals, job aides, quick-fact reference guides and other training aids used in classroom and web-based training courses, workshops, seminars, etc.
Responsible for the content accuracy, as assigned by Supervisor, for all instructional and web-based learning materials, including scheduled reviews and updates.
Analyze and draft content for written communication, informational emails, talking points and job aids for internal staff.
Serve as technical resource and Subject Matter Expert regarding Citizens policies, procedures and insurance products during vILT & live training sessions, in training follow ups and within inter-departmental review committee meetings. Also, provide technical knowledge toward the development of content and curriculum in workgroup settings.
Assist the Claims Quality Assurance Program in developing and implementing quality improvement strategies.
May serve in a leadership role to IA staff and Citizens’ team on technical matters during a catastrophe event.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong knowledge and understanding of property insurance operations, underlying principles and related Florida laws and regulations.
Strong knowledge of and ability to conduct field inspections of damaged property.
Ability to conduct quality assessments.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include presentation skills.
Knowledge of training principles.
Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and coordinate workload, multiple tasks and projects.
Ability to use problem-solving and analytical techniques.
Ability to translate technical data into user-friendly documentation, coursework, process flows, etc.
Demonstrated teaching/training skills or aptitude to teach technical materials.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with claims servicing companies and other vendors.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree OR 2 years relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 2 years of college.
5 or more years of professional property insurance experience, 4 of which should be in claims adjusting in Property and/or Casualty Insurance.
Must possess a valid, active and appropriate Florida adjuster license by first day of employment and maintain it as a condition of continued employment. Appointment required.
Within 90 days of employment, must successfully complete all requirements of Citizens’ Fundamental Claims School, which includes obtaining an overall passing score.
Experience with hands-on training, course development or presentation.
Bachelor’s degree in field with skills transferrable to insurance.
7 or more years of field property and casualty insurance claims adjusting experience to include a variety of claims and size.
4 years of training experience in property insurance training.
Experience with Citizens’ CTS or equivalent electronic claims system.
Comprehensive knowledge of property estimating programs (such as Xactimate).
Experience presenting to large groups (50 or more attendees).
Insurance Designations (AIC, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, ARM, INS).
- This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone and in-person, and key frequently on a computer (2 or more hours per day). Position requires overnight travel.
