Experienced Hire Recruiting Senior Associate

Position Summary

The Experienced Hire Recruiting Senior Associate role is a great opportunity for either a line Big 4 audit, tax or consulting professional who has played an active role in recruiting looking for a career move into HR, or, an experienced recruiting professional with experience within the Big 4 or other large national or regional professional services firm.

Working in a challenging, high-volume, fast-paced environment, the Experienced Recruiter is responsible for the quality and effectiveness of the talent acquisition process and implementing strategies to identify, attract, and hire high quality employees. The Experienced Recruiter will partner and build effective relationships at all levels to ensure an efficient and successful recruitment process and has specific responsibility for a variety of recruiting-related activities including candidate sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, reference checking, as well as tracking and reporting information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the hiring of targeted professionals based on agreed-upon hiring goals in accordance with business plans.

  • Deliver on all areas of recruitment process including sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, assessment, and extending candidate offers.

  • Proactively identify, source, and recruit candidates utilizing a variety of sources including, but not limited to, Internet postings and search, direct sourcing, employee referrals, job fairs, research, print media, networking and agencies.

  • Develop creative recruiting methods to minimize or eliminate the use of contingency and retained search firms; but where necessary, manage and coordinate recruitment efforts with retained and contingency recruitment vendors, and negotiate contracts and fee arrangements based on firm practices and procedures.

  • Conduct thorough telephone and in-office interviews with selected candidates. Coach and train hiring managers on behavioral interviewing selection method.

  • Build relationships with business partners in order to assess their needs and provide solutions. Interact effectively with all levels of employees, management, and partners in the local office, as well as with regional recruiting manager and recruiters, contractor recruiters and sourcers, the director of experienced hire recruiting, and other recruiting staff.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with candidates, employees, other recruiters, college and university officials, alumni groups, as well as business and trade associations to foster an ongoing pipeline of highly qualified candidates for firm employment.

  • Keep hiring managers and local HR representatives informed of recruitment efforts and progress.

  • Prepare job descriptions and appropriate interview questions to be used by self and others involved in the recruitment process.

  • Negotiate salaries, bonuses, and relocation packages for staff-level to senior manager-level candidates in coordination with regional recruiting manager and local office managing partner.

  • Educate all internal clients on the firm's recruiting protocol.

  • Develop and oversee the local employee referral process.

  • Gather and analyze competitive industry information regarding salary, benefits, and employment practices.

  • Devise and implement strategies to recruit a diverse population of employees.

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.

  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent business experience required

  • Minimum four or more years of broad and diversified recruiting experience, preferably from a professional services environment

  • Strong knowledge base and prior experience in full life-cycle experienced-hire recruitment

  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and hiring practices, behaviorally-based interview techniques, tracking processes for applicants and open positions, and metrics.

  • The ability to establish priorities, manage deadlines, exercise a high degree of professionalism in interactions with all levels of internal and external clients.

  • Attributes that include a strong client service mentality, detail orientation, a positive team-oriented attitude.

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
