Purpose of the job is to identify/ evaluate and incubate innovations and latest digital technologies from an automotive engineering, digital technology and automotive (OEM/ customer) application perspective. These need to be assessed with a mature level of digital and automotive engineering expertise, promoted with the business and possibly developed to a proof of concept (POC or MVP) and transitioned/ transferred to the business units of ZF.
●Drive the assessment, evaluation, if needed PoC/ MVP activities of innovations/ technologies from an automotive engineering and digital technology perspective.
●Identify the innovation/ technology relevant partners in the BUs of ZF and drive innovation understanding, adoption and support implementation.
●Ensure state of the art automotive knowledge as well as of new digital technologies arising.
●Support ZF group employees in partnering with Silicon Valley players, like startups, digital giants, accelerators etc. bridging technical communication and operational partnership challenges.
●Cooperate with innovation ecosystem team and IoT platform group to ensure compatibility of products/ solutions with regards to connectivity.
●Support defining the blueprint for innovation hubs globally with innovation ecosystem team with regards to automotive engineering and digital technology expertise.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or comparable education required
Experience and Skill Requirements
The ideal candidate will present proven experience in automotive electronics engineering (CAN, Flexray, Autosar etc.) as well as digital technologies (connectivity, Bluetooth, wifi, cellular, programming, ethernet, artificial intelligence architectures, machine/ deep learning models) and the applicability to automotive technical and customer environment.
The candidate will be highly customer-focused in combination with having strong organizational and operations skills and experience managing a technical team with emphasis on innovation and technology development. The candidate will be inspiring and able to develop and communicate a technical and business vision, and energize the team behind this vision. The candidate will be able to effectively interact and communicate at all levels of the company and with external constituents. Skilled at operating and performing in a complex organizational environment, he/she will deliver impact through superior collaborative skills. He/ she will be strategic in thinking as well as tactical and pragmatic in approach.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an understanding of the cultural differences between regions and countries. German language and cultural skills can help succeed in this assignment.
