Stryker Quality Inspector I in Salt Lake City, Utah

Performs functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training. The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making. The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline. The technical procedures for this level are well defined. The job is expected to follow detailed and defined rules / instructions and to make simple judgement in straightforward situations. Typically requires selecting between solutions already established.

Working within the Inspection Team, will learn and take direction from supervisor & tenured associates, is responsible for inspection related activities, specific to each sites’ requirements, may include but not limited to the following:

  • Read and inspect to blueprints and/or inspection guide sheets / instructions.

  • Perform Document Review, analyse, inspect and archive DHRs (paper-based and/or electronically) in compliance to GMP/GDP requirements prior to release to finished goods.

  • Perform computer system transactions related to router inspections, etc.

  • Segregate, quarantine and complete documentation for non-conforming materials when necessary.

  • Initiation of quarantine tickets (non-conformance reports)

  • Perform disposition tasks in the ERP system.

  • Support the achievement of Inspection Teams’ KPI's.

  • Work to forecasts and plans based on Business requirements.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Vocational/technical school training/certificate an advantage.

  • Exhibits ability to build proficiency in understanding basic concepts of GD&T training (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Experience of in a regulated environment, preferable.

  • 1+ years of technical education or work environment, preferable.

  • Potential ability to read blueprints and specifications exhibited.

  • Ability to build proficiency in the use of all standard inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, gages and comparators.

  • Ability to build proficiency in the use of coordinate measuring machines, electrical / visual inspection techniques may also be required.

  • Ability to build proficiency in understanding of Inspection Sampling Plans

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Basic understanding of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to build proficiency in GD&T

  • Demonstrated computer skills including basic proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Office Suite

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, customer service and accountability

  • Ability to build basic proficiency of FDA CFR 820 and ISO 13485 Regulations

  • Good level of manual dexterity

  • Demonstrated flexibility and team player.

  • Good timekeeping , attendance and performance track record

  • Preferred ability to lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
