CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Senior Engineer - Vision Guided Robotics

FAC is currently searching for aSenior Engineerto join our General Industry and Automotive Segment. Primary responsibilities will include:
To implement machine vision hardware & software solutions for Vision Guided Robotic (VGR) applications in the automation of common largely manual tasks in diverse industries with a focus on the warehousing and logistics industry.
Key applications include heterogeneous and homogenous box depalletzing, random product tote picking/order filling, trailer loading/unloading and others.
Develop and test proto-type machine vision solutions including hardware integration and programming of both iRVision and third-party machine vision components and software libraries
Travel to customer site to oversee installation and further testing of developed solutions
Work with FAC integrators on large scale deployment of validated systems
Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
Bachelor degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant experience, advanced degree preferred
Minimum eight years’ experience with demonstrated success in 2D and 3D machine vision programming preferably with experience in using machine vision for guidance of industrial robots.
Experience with 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
Demonstrated understanding of machine vision algorithms and software, and their creative application in the automation of tasks including the guidance of industrial robots.
Must have demonstrated programming abilities in C++, C#/VB.NET, and strong knowledge of typical 2D and 3D machine vision libraries like MVTec Halcon, Matrox MIL, PCL, etc.
A high level of demonstrated technical expertise, leadership, and ability to direct and guide is expected.
