The Associate Production Team Lead is responsible for team performance in the areas of quality, delivery and performance to budget, team building, employee engagement, new product implementation, capacity and production planning. The Associate Production Team Lead will adhere to quality and quantity standards and follow guidelines to meet product specifications.

Specific responsibilities of the Associate Production Team Lead include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Using data and other inputs, identify, prioritize, and deliver on business and customer needs

  • Accountable to meeting and/or exceeding business objectives including but not limited to safety, quality, delivery, customer experience, people development and cost

  • Allocate and lead resources in area based on production schedule and standards

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve goals

  • Understand the technical aspects of the business and utilize the necessary resources to address and resolve issues through problem solving

  • Participates in and may identify cost reduction initiatives to deliver on financial projections

  • Partner with other business unit leaders on projects or operations initiatives to align when appropriate

  • Must be able to collect various metrics and compile to forecast business needs

  • Responsible for managing cost performance for the unit/team supported, with guidance

  • May lead plant tours and be familiar with the products manufactured in assigned unit

  • Attend daily MDI meetings and communicate business results /metrics clearly at all levels of the operations business

  • Oversee execution and coaching of MDI process up through Tier 2

  • May fill in for Operations Manager as needed, to include MDI Tier 3

  • Evaluate employee performance through various means, such as talent reviews and common annual reviews, and enforcing company policies through appropriate disciplinary measures, with guidance. Work collaboratively to develop and drive accountability for meaningful performance objectives

  • Provide developmental coaching and guidance to team in the areas of performance management, communication, and adhering to company polices

  • Responsible for the recruitment and hiring of talent

  • Manage labor through OT approval and timecard management

  • Achieve employee engagement by being responsible and accountable for actions promoting an environment that fosters personal growth and development

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the support of business and process improvements including but not limited to 6S, lean manufacturing initiatives, etc.

  • Own and execute LSW (Leader Standard Work) and audit requirements including, but not limited to, Quality and 6S

  • Identify and execute continuous improvement projects through teamwork, empowerment, consultative problem solving, and operating with honesty and integrity while providing a highly responsive and unsurpassed level of customer service

  • Accountable for team training compliance and guidance to team members, while ensuring a proper tracking of competencies

  • May participate in audits

  • Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications

  • Ensures compliance with established regulatory, quality, legal, corporate, and human resources policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory/people manager role is required.

Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated communication (written & verbal), organization and planning skills

  • Ability to work and influence cross-functionally to deliver results
