Leads, guides, mentors, and manages a medium size group of engineers assigned to the development and validation of Electric Drive Systems for our Electrified Vehicle offerings.

About this role:

  • Provide technical leadership of development & validation engineers
  • Translates business objectives to actionable deliverables for work group
  • Establish department workload priorities based upon program needs, available resources, and forecast future growth requirements
  • Negotiate budget requirements and assure compliance to program
  • Trains, develops, mentors, and manages employee performance
  • Implement best practices and processes for Electric Drive Development
  • Apply Leadership Skills
  • Standardize and integrate new processes and methods in the Electrification/Electric Drive engineering space
  • Leads in selection and development of new employees -
  • Model and foster desired core values and behaviors
  • Lead the process for reviewing projects, engineering documentation and outputs to ensure adherence to standardized work.
  • Establish, maintain and support efficient utilization of test equipment and resources
  • Provides consistent direction on process and policy to Development & Validation engineers
  • Project validation needs for new technology

Required Skills and Experience :

  • BS in Engineering required (ME or EE concentration preferred)
  • Prior Development / Validation and/or Release experience with Electrification systems and/or Electrified Components, or GPS Transmissions or Engines
  • 10 Yrs + experience in Propulsion Engineering or Relevant Experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage group of Technically oriented engineers and support successful completion of projects
  • High level of oral and written communication skills, as well as, interpersonal skills to work effective with others
  • Experience in leading projects and people
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
  • Ability to identify and remove roadblocks
  • Creates and maintains an environment that enables all participants to contribute to full potential
  • High level of technical ability when problems are unusual and difficult to solve.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • Practical knowledge of Electric Propulsion System
  • Practical knowledge of Validation methods and processes
  • Good understanding of test equipment and data processing
  • People Leader experience
  • Masters in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
  • DFSS Black Belt Certification
