Penske Manager, Guided Repair in Pennsylvania


Position Summary:

Penske is seeking a Manager of guided repair to work at our corporate offices in Green Hills, PA. The purpose of this role is to reduce tech diagnostic time and outside repairs by maximizing the benefits of the Guided Repair System, which uses AI and Penske’s RO and Fault Code history to recommend the most likely cause of a failure. The individual in this role will work directly with field associates to maximize the use and effectiveness of the system. They will also work with various internal Penske teams to understand and resolve issues with the application.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze the results of the model output to gain insights into emerging maintenance trends and repeat faults. The GR Manager will then work with Warranty, Mtc Analytics, and field organizations to share those insights and make process adjustments as needed.

  • Manage the service levels of the Guided Repair system, ensuring that acceptable levels of response times, response rates, and accuracy levels are maintained. If service levels fall below acceptable standards, the GR Manager will work with Penske IT or Hitachi Consulting, as appropriate, to resolve the issues.

  • Evaluate the adoption rates of the GR system at field locations, and will work with the field to improve its use and effectiveness.

  • Advance the program by incorporating complementary systems, such as Connected Fleet, and working with Penske and outside AI and Big Data resources to expand the model beyond the current engine related systems.

  • Test, approve, deploy, and monitor models through the GR Admin portal. This includes selecting and maintaining test cases that reflect current maintenance trends that will be used for bulk testing and working with the VDA team to test targeted scenarios.

  • Provide on-going reports to Corp and Field management quantifying the benefits of GR and identifying opportunities for improvement based upon KPIs.

  • Other projects as assigned by the Director



  • Bachelor's Degree required, concentration in Statistics, Engineering, Data Science preferred

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • 3 years of experience in the transportation industry required

  • Must know proper sampling procedures

  • Must be able to evaluate data sets to identify significant differences

  • Working knowledge of table structures and how they are used by Penske systems required

  • Ability to relate data and information to field maintenance processes required

  • Must think logically

  • Must be capable of driving process improvement

  • Good written and verbal communication skills required

  • Project management experience preferred

  • Must have strong collaboration skills & ability to work well with other teams

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
