Job Description

Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience in the area of Human Resources, while working at our Manufacturing Center located in Paragould, Arkansas beginning in May 2018.

You will primarily focus on employee engagement and retention. Responsible to work with managers and group leaders to develop a new hourly recruiting strategy, with a goal of improving YOY new hire turnover. Intern will also work with managers and group leaders rated in the lowest 25% of the engagement survey, leading and participate in focus groups and ensure that we are implementing positive changes based on employee feedback.

Required Skills

  • Must be able to work independently and in a Team based environment.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Ability to work in a very fast paced and employee facing environment.

  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations are a must.

Required Experience

  • Student currently enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resources.

  • Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

  • Ability to work at least 30 hours per week during the internship period

  • Student who resides within a commutable distance of the job site (Paragould, AR).

  • Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site (Paragould, AR).
