CooperStandard Group Plant Controller in Oscoda, Michigan
Multi-Site responsibility for directing and managing finance functions at the plant level.
Counsels and advises Plant Manager and department personnel on financial and accounting matters.
Involved in strategic planning and analysis for Plant operations
Reviews, appraises and certifies all statements and reports relating to the financial results and budgeted operation of the plant
Closes books at month-end, financial analysis and reporting
Assists Plant Management team in establishing annual budget. Presents financial plan with Plant Manager to Senior Management
Constructs monthly forecasts for P&L, B/L, lean, capital and headcount with input from management team
Evaluates and approves all capital and customer paid tooling (greater than $25k) appropriation requests
Conducts annual burden studies to determine standard cost and quote rates for manufactured products. Coordinates cost accounting issues and the annual standard cost revision between division and plant personnel
Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly, identifies any areas of risk/exposure
Works with Engineering and Production departments to support the reporting/operations of the facility Ensures tooling reporting is sufficient to meet Engineering/Manufacturing and financial needs, is accurate, reliable and minimizes customer audit exposure.
Co-supervises, with Materials managers, and audits physical inventories. Participates in establishing and maintaining auditing cost standards for performance measurement and inventory evaluations.
Assists in audits performed by Division, Company and/or external auditors
Publishes slides and related comments for the monthly operations reviews with salary and factory personnel
Reviews purchasing cost changes and their impact to operations due to price, volume or the resourcing of business
Will be an integral part in leading the implementation of SAP within Plant Environment. Includes ERP replacement of legacy and ensure proper costing, BOM/Routing, and financial integrity of implementation

Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in finance/accounting preferred
Five to seven years of prior leadership experience within accounting/finance
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experienced in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of auditing preferred
Applies in depth understanding of the business and how finance/accounting contribute to the achievement of business results
Ability to manage multi-site teams, set priorities and allocate resources
Ability to identify and resolve complex operational problems
Attention to detail and data accuracy
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
