CooperStandard HR Business Partner in Novi, Michigan

_Position Summary:_

Administers and provides functional support for all areas of Human Resources, including but not limited to policy administration, benefits administration, employee relations, training, HRIS maintenance, recruitment, compensation, onboarding, legal compliance.

_Primary Responsibilities:_

  • Acts as a strategic business partner to functional leaders on management, coaching, career development, disciplinary actions and employee relations

  • Leads human resources initiatives related organizational effectiveness and change, ensuring that HR plans are aligned with company top priorities

  • Conducts orientation and onboarding of new employees

  • Works closely with functional leaders on merit process, succession planning, identifying top talent

  • Conducts employee investigations; responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations

  • Conducts training including: performance goal setting, merit process, year- end performance reviews

  • Administers leaves of absence, FMLA/STD/LTD, Workers Compensation to include documentation, reporting to third party, pay and communication to employee/manager

  • Develops and implements various human resource policies, procedures and programsto ensure continuous improvement

  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation; conducts exit interviews

  • Maintains human resources records including new hires, transfers, terminations, job changes, salary adjustments, etc.

  • Manages Visa/PERM process for internal employees and new hires

  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, recruiting, compensation, and all other HR disciplines. Partners with HR subject matter experts to effectively answer and resolve all complex inquiries

  • Functions as TS16949 representative for headquarters to ensure compliance with all quality standards; assists in revision of procedures and forms as required; conducts internal audits

  • Responds to unemployment inquiries

  • May lead HR projects

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description

_Education and Qualifications:_

  • Four (4) year college or university degree or equivalent, in Human Resources, Business Management or related field required

  • 5-8 years of related experience

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of Human Resources, policy interpretations and legal requirements

  • Able to compile information and analyze data

  • Must possess a high level of problem solving skill

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and exercise judgment in disclosing or withholding confidential information

  • Possess high energy, process orientation and superior multitasking skills

  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels within as well as outside the Company

  • High level experience with Microsoft Office Applications

  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
