Job Description

General Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the NA regional schedule, prioritization, and organization of delivering classroom, webinar, eLearning, and video-led learning & development across the NA region supporting TBS Elements, starting with manufacturing operations, including Focus Factory.

  • Develops & manages the execution of tools provided by the Learning Development team & core competency teams for Team Leaders and Group Leaders to develop a continuous pipeline of talent in operations leadership, enhance engagement throughout the organization, and drive continuous improvement operationally. This includes DDI as well as other core competencies within the TBS manufacturing element.

  • Consults & partners with Learning & Development team for deployment of eLearning and classroom-led trainings

  • Develops, administers, and continually enhances the NA (across SBU) regional training & development annual plan to ensure consistent delivery of content related to TBS deployment and sustainability

  • Consults, assesses and recommends solutions to identify and close performance gaps through partnership with HR, CI & Operations Leadership

  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures for all course content development

  • Tracks and reports on training activities, as well as identifying trends and opportunities

  • Handles coordination and some administration to coordinate regional or site specific instructor-led offerings, curriculum, and learning program structures

  • Provides support to additional system administrators and end users

  • Collaborates with operational and HR leadership to develop prioritization of Learning Development deployment. This will expand to other functions outside of operations in the medium term.

  • Works with Learning Development Leader & team in support of the organization’s process improvement program

  • Occasionally, utilize presentation, and facilitation skills, though the primary focus of this role is not to conduct training but to forward the progress of Learning Development in TBS Elements, starting with manufacturing.

  • Engage in research and troubleshooting to resolve implementation issues, utilizing strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Project Management: Planning and executing a range of concurrent various scoped learning and development initiatives/events/projects; managing multiple projects at once and thriving with both long term planning and immediate needs

  • Some travel required

  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field of HR, training, organizational development, communications, business etc.

  • Outstanding communication, organization, coordination skills

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with confident presentation skills and ability to comfortably speak in front of a group; Ability to communicate effectively and flexibly with a variety of audiences

  • Demonstrated change leadership coupled with exceptional relationship building skills with ability to influence and lead in a highly dynamic and changing environment.

  • Proven ability to move from ideas to action quickly while constantly moving things forward; strong problem solving skills with ability to think strategically and critically in order to develop solutions to complex problems.

  • Use of Technology: Excellent computer skills

  • Advanced knowledge of and comfort working with basic productivity software to create, edit, manipulate and develop presentations, communications, templates and data sets (MS Office – PowerPoint, Word, Excel),

  • PowerBI (potentially utilize, ability to learn and utilize this tool)

  • webinar/video conferencing tools

  • Ability to research & analyze information and formulate recommendations

  • Ability to effectively work independently and within a strong team dynamic

  • Effective interpersonal and listening skills

  • Must be authorized to work in the USA – Visa sponsorship is not available

  • Process improvement experience and/or certifications

  • Preferred: Internal knowledge of Tenneco and it’s organizational structure to quickly navigate for fast impact on organizational goals
