Cadillac Data Analyst


Cadillac Data Scientist, Advanced Analytics is an individual contributor that reports to the Director of Corporate Strategy & Advanced Analytics.

Primary purpose:

  • Drive implementation of advanced analytics across Global Cadillac embedding it in processes, analysis and planning procedures and methods
  • Help identify and solve Cadillac’s biggest challenges, identify potential risks, and uncover new opportunities to modify operations, expand revenue, or reduce cost through the use of advanced analytics
  • Support the corporate strategy group with constructively disrupting/enhancing Cadillac’s business model


Work with and coach a Cadillac team of Analysts and collaborate cross-functionally in the planning and execution of advanced analytics and data management:

Capability Building

  • Help build & execute Cadillac’s Global Advanced Analytics capability (Methods, Tools, Processes/Procedures); from both internal & external sources
  • Perform analytical methodology process improvements
  • Engage and collaborate with Cadillac Global team, GM IT, GM Advanced Analytics, GM Digital & Marketing Analytics for synergies and cross pollination, development and resource efficiencies

Advanced Analytics

  • Lead Advanced Analytics projects and integration across Global Cadillac
  • Develop actionable business insights by performing advanced analytics on a broad range of problems and data types; communicate findings both written and verbal in a clear, concise and compelling manner
  • Conduct Cadillac Global segmentation modeling and evaluation (Vehicle & Customer)
  • Stay abreast of the evolving advanced analytics landscape; bring best practices and leading edge innovations to Cadillac
  • Lead efforts to identify root cause of poor performance or KPI shortfalls

Predictive modeling

  • Capitalize on new sources of data using state of the art tools and techniques to drive faster and better business decisions
  • Aide Cadillac in pivoting toward a forward looking predictive mode of operation
  • Predict the impact of initiatives and market shifts on the brand, volume, pricing
  • Identify predictive model opportunities (e.g., incentive optimization, supply chain, product development, etc.)
  • Identify and build predictive modeling opportunities for key business imperatives e.g., quality, marketing effectiveness, digital sentiment, volume

Data Management

  • Build tools and processes to manage and disseminate data
  • Direct validation and approval of all data and information utilizing advanced analytics (predictive, statistical & machine learning based or high-technology derived) for Cadillac executive team decision making
  • Develop and implement solutions and methods to leverage Hadoop based GM data platform where possible

Business Intelligence

  • Lead strategic KPI and key signals Business Intelligence across Cadillac
  • Manage tracking, management and automated tool development for executive and working team monitoring
  • Conduct process development for early warning signal (EWS) communication and action as part of ERM
  • Conduct instillation of regular business intelligence process and reporting implementing key prioritization, visualization, velocity, quantity and frequency considerations


  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in data analytics/data science
  • Experience leading teams of analytical professionals and facilitating productive brainstorming, methodology development and problem solving
  • Utilization of advanced analytics for business application in experience or education
  • Education or experience with distributed processing / cloud based architecture and Database management skills (e.g., SQL, cloud: Hadoop, Hive)
  • Working experience with enterprise warehouse management and query
  • Working knowledge of advanced statistical methods for predictive forecasting (beyond multiple linear regression analysis)
  • Exposure to programming (object oriented or otherwise)
  • Database management skills (e.g., MS Access, SQL, cloud: Hadoop, Hive)
  • Statistical software experience (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, STATA)
  • Demonstrated experience with scenario and simulation development
  • Strong project management skills; ability to execute multiple complex and long-term tasks with strong cross-department collaboration and high time-management acumen

  • Graduate degree in statistics, applied sciences (e.g., physics), computer science and/or related quantitative field
