CooperStandard Preventive Maintenance Engineer in Mt Sterling, Kentucky

Position Summary:

The Preventive Maintenance Engineer , leads the skilled technical personnel in preventative maintenance program design and implementation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data and create metrics to create a preventive maintenance program.

  • Provides guidance, direction and training to personnel in respective areas as needed.

  • Ensures all work by skilled personnel is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Prioritizes maintenance activities in accordance with production requirements to ensure minimal machine down time.

  • Develops and implements schedules and procedures for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Identifies and Coordinates the resolution of issues related to programs or processes.

  • Identifies failure points in equipment and designs preventative maintenance procedure for each piece of equipment.

  • Monitors PM data to identify repeat maintenance issues to increase machine reliability and uptime.

  • Participates in and provides training as required.

  • Participates in and performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan.

  • Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards are maintained.

  • Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as ATF 16949 and ISO 14001.

  • Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean.

  • Will lead and analyze reliability studies for all manufacturing equipment and machines.

  • Will lead and implement Corporate TPM activities at the plant.

  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Four-year College or University Degree/Technical degree in Engineering/related field required.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in automotive industry.

  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

  • Data driven and analytic with technical ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Statistical aptitude

  • Project management experience

  • Experience in a variety of basic operations disciplines: Manufacturing, Quality, Process / Tooling and Shop Floor Supervision.

  • Experience introducing reliability/process improvements

  • Experience identifying maintenance expenditures, downtime, etc. and analyzing data to recommend areas of improvement

  • Experience with CMMS software

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
