Position Summary:

Perform compliance lead auditor activities required for leading the organization in achieving and maintaining customer required registrations including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure organizational preparation to achieve and maintain ISO/IATF registrations including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 serving as the main point of contact with registration organizations.

  • Develop and execute plans to maintain ISO/IATF documentation for the Quality Management System and audit to ensure effectiveness.

  • Organize, train, assign, and manage tasks and records for the corporate-wide cross-functional Internal Assessor Team.

  • Evaluate effectiveness of the internal audit program, make recommendations for improvements, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure timely feedback of ISO/IATF activities, issues and audit results including KPI generation for management reviews

  • Prepare for and lead the AM General ISO / IATF Management Review meetings

  • Identify and prioritize non-conformance issues from internal and external audits driving them to closure

  • Ensure rapid and effective countermeasures are implemented by the business team based on feedback from audit activities

  • Participate in Lean Six-Sigma efforts attaining Lean Six-Sigma certifications as needed

  • Communicate ISO/IATF initiatives and status to the organization and develop training materials for all levels of the organization.

  • Provide input to the departmental budget and meet area cost objectives

  • Support reduction of waste and minimize ISO/IATF registration and maintenance costs

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or other Technical field. Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of business experience in various areas of Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, and Quality preferred.

  • ISO/IATF Lead Auditor Certification or ability to achieve certification within 6 months after start.

  • Detail oriented with experience leading organization through registration to the ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 standard.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.

  • Strong problem solving, organizational, customer service, negotiating, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Must have strong and accurate written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel 5%-10%.

Physical Effort:

Light - Combination of office work and plant floor support with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and sometimes long hours.

Working Conditions:

This position requires a self-starter, who is motivated and energetic with the ability to work alone or as part of a team environment. This position requires one to be an active member of various cross functional teams with good verbal and written communication skills. Light travel required primarily to other AM General sites.
