The Propulsion System Electronic Controls (PSEC) Business Operations group is seeking a motivated Senior Project Engineer that is a self-starter with strong analytical and technical skills to join our team. This role is responsible for identifying and developing process and cost savings improvements across PSEC - Milford Proving Ground (MPG) instrumentation usage. In addition, this role will act as the PSEC Serial Data Tools Leader and will be responsible for the definition/forecasting of Serial Data Tools needs, while providing technical direction and support for PSEC In-Vehicles Instrumentation TRB.

The ideal candidate will have an extensivebackground and understanding of CAN with a minimum 3 years of experience in CAN communication and relevant tools.This candidate possesses exemplary communication, project-management skills, and is a passionate, hard-working person who enjoys taking on challenges and following through with robust solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and Lead In-Vehicle Instrumentation Technical Review Board (TRB) Sub-Committee projects
  • Manage hardware procurement, updates and license needs for PSEC
  • Interact with suppliers, obtain quotes, evaluate instrumentation solutions
  • Communicate information to suppliers and internal PSEC personnel as required
  • Stay abreast of instrumentation technology and development tools
  • Support calibration and controls engineers within Global Propulsion Systems (GPS)
  • Define instrumentation requirements for development use on GPS programs

Required:

  • Bachelors in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and/or Mathematics.
  • 5+ years technical and/or manufacturing engineering experience in the automotive industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in CAN communication and relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of the calibration development process and understand the needs for in-vehicle calibration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Presents information for decision making purposes with little to no direction
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities, attend training, seek out mentoring, and learn new technical skills.
  • Comfort and experience with leading teams and projects

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Masters in Engineering

Required:
