ZF FMEA Coordinator in Marshall, Illinois

GENERAL SUMMARY: Coordinate and facilitate PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) updates and reviews with a cross functional team using IQ-RM software from APIS. Integrate process flow and control plan information into IQ-RM software. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain Product PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for the plant.
Conduct periodic PFEMA reviews with support groups to capture and reflect changes.
Develop/provide product/customer specific documentation for review with management and customers.
Support process groups to evaluate risk and identify needs for failure mode prevention and detection controls.
Coordinate PFMEA training and develop necessary training materials.
Improve the understanding and consistent use of special characteristics in all manufacturing documentation.
Provide DFM (Design For Manufacturing) feedback to design engineering for the introduction of new products.
Utilize statistical techniques to summarize data to use in presentations.
Capable of maintaining MS Project Schedules for small-scale projects.
Schedule and run meetings using project management tools.
Analyze manufacturing data for the purpose of implementing individual or team based continuous improvement activities.
Interprets simple design changes and support efforts to incorporate the change into manufacturing.
Complete Green belt training and support the facility’s Green Belt initiatives as mandated.
Travel to other ZF sites, customer sites or supplier sites to provide support or execute instructions as provided by management or senior engineering leadership.
Limited exercise of judgment is required in details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Understands risks associated with basic science and engineering practices and applies appropriate safe guards.
Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of a more experienced engineer.
Applies standard practices & techniques in specific situations, adjusts & correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows through with a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Receives frequent/regular supervision - daily contact from Principal Engineer and/or manager
Performs other duties as assigned
Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
Support customer quality in development of quality control plan (QCP).
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
Experience and Skill Requirements
•Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing engineering environment (thru-hole, SMT, final assembly, packaging).
•Knowledge of FMEA methods and Control Plans.
•Experience using IQ-RM software from APIS is strongly preferred.
•Knowledge of quality management systems.
•Team leadership skills and the capability to communicate and influence at the plant staff level.
•Excellent moderation and facilitation skills.
•Project / Program development experience.
•Strong communication skills.
•Strong project management skills.
•Green Belt / Black Belt Six Sigma training preferred.
•Familiarity with personal computing software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.).
