Job Description / Information
The Area Director, Trauma & Extremities will be responsible for developing and driving specialization along with supporting and leveraging Trauma & Extremities within the branch sales structure across the Northeast Area. The Area Director, Trauma & Extremities will drive results, customer focus and area talent base.
The primary focus of the role is to:
Lead the sales teams for the T&E Division within the specified area.
Collaborate with the Area Vice President, VP GM T&E and the VP GM F&A to develop the strategic priorities for T&E within the area to deliver the expected results.
Lead execution of strategic plan in partnership with Branch General Managers and/or Agency Managers and their respective teams.
Direct market channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals in partnership with AVPs, GM/Branch or Agency Manager.
Serve as a conduit between other trauma sales support teams and the field to help drive sales and sales efficiencies.
Partner with the AVP as well as VP GM T&E and VP GM F&A to develop the strategic priorities and strategic initiatives for T&E within the area.
Collaborate with peers to collaboratively work on strategic T&E projects and initiatives to ensure that Stryker continues to be a market leader.
Provide competitive and business information to Marketing, R&D, and/or Business Development organizations to provide insight to strategy, pricing, innovation projects and other business requirements.
Focus on and engage regularly with key customers (Stryker and competitive) within assigned area.
Overseeing T&E profitability improvement and P&L in the area.
Approval and allocation of instruments and inventory.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, an advanced degree (e.g. MBA) is advantageous.
10+ years relevant sales experience, with a large portion of this being within the medical technology industry. Prior P&L responsibility is advantageous.
5+ years effectively leading people.
Demonstrated record of overachieving sales and financial goals (e.g. quota, operating income etc.)
Demonstrated ability to build relationships, lead and influence at all levels of the organization (executives, peers, direct reports, indirect teams etc.).
Ability to seamlessly operate within a matrix environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-divisional environment while driving business initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to engage and align leaders around strategies to drive growth and business improvement.
Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Demonstrated track record of effectively developing and executing a successful business plan.
