Are you up for the challenge?
Serve as the NA Foundation Braking CQA champion for the Purchasing team. Prepare costed BOMs used in the creation of business cases needed to determine pricing for customer quotes. Interact with Engineering, Commodity Buyers, Supplier Development Engineering, Program Managers, Sales, Operations and Finance. Represent Purchasing in all Pre-CQA and CQA meetings, business case preparation, working level meetings, etc. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, keep internal "customers" informed on progress, meet committed deadlines, etc. Above average written and verbal communication skills are needed to ensure information between all parties is clearly understood so that the accuracy of the BOM information (pricing, tooling, supplier selection, etc.). A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and an attention to detail is critical.
Work with engineering, commodity managers, supplier development engineers, program managers, sales, and finance to ensure CQA cost information for product BOMs meet expectations in terms of cost and timing
Participate on multiple PFS (Part Family Strategy) teams to help define the long-term strategy of key commodities (design, supply base, cost, etc.)
Drive the coordination of commodity strategies with the goals of the individual programs
Facilitate cross-functional meetings including suppliers to improve program cost, suppliers, etc. through the CQA process
Assist in strategic evaluation of suppliers by conducting research, analysis and/or participation in the selection process. Following selection, participate in the development and launch of new suppliers and conduct negotiations for/with the commodity team
Coordinate/ lead efforts to identify and implement cost savings opportunities and meet assigned cost targets in the area of engineering changes, VAVE, lean activities and re-sourcing activities
Essential Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required. Primary studies in Program Management, Materials/Logistics, or Finance is preferred
5+ years in engineering (applications or product), program management, or work experience performing responsibilities described above
Prior experience leading and/or participating in teams, including cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Certification as Green Belt in Six Sigma preferred, or similar problem-solving/process improvement methodology
Current profession certifications highly desired (PMP, PgMP)
