ZF Machinist in Livonia, Michigan
Division A - Engineering - Braking
Responsible for the machining of prototype level components, details and fixtures. Machinist will independently set-up and program assigned tasks.
Review prints for completeness
Establish machining processes for individual prototype components.
Design, build and implement fixturing to accomplish machining of individual components according to print specifications.
Possess basic inspection skills and be familiar with CMM inspection reports and practices.
Document in-process machining results according
Works with others to determine root cause(s) of process and tooling failures
Able to work in a team oriented atmosphere
Must be a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
Note any issues during run / inspection of manufactured parts for engineering to resolve
Assist prototype planners in resolving any issues which arise during process
Must own basic measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, indicator, scale, etc.
High School Diploma, Associates Degree or Trade School certificate in a technical discipline preferred.
Experience and skills requirement:
Basic knowledge of function of automobile
Familiar with the use of basic measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.
Proficient in Blue Print Reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance )
Must have good communication skills and be able to interact with engineering community.
Experience in machining (preferably with C.N.C. and Manual machinery )
Good attendance background
Diligent and hard working
Able to effectively manage time and work load
Flexible to change
Please note that this is an overnight shift position.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma. 2 year Associates or Specialized Technical Degree preferred.
