In this position you will be part the Global Electronics Engineering (GEE) Braking Electronics Team developing high performance Brake Control Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for multiple global customers with high annual production volumes. Product development focuses on Slip Control Systems (SCS) and Integrated Brake Controls (IBC) brake control applications.
Process Owner for ECU System & Safety Engineering including supporting Management Deliverables.
Make required system design decisions in collaboration with appropriate Engineering Product Design Specialists to facilitate resolution to product technical and functional issues.
Primary point contact for Systems and Safety requests related to Product Development of IBC and SCS ECU applications. This includes working with the North American Braking Systems Engineering Team. Specifically for:
Interface between Systems requirements and ECU requirements to insure performance alignment between the two groups.
Interface between Functional Safety Teams on Safety Goals and Metrics that will drive the ECU design.
Coordination of Systems and Safety Engineering approach with GEE braking Koblenz Team.
Liase with internal functions (i.e.. MFG., Purchasing, Program Mgmt.) to insure product design supports ZF Business objectives.
Prepare appropriate documentation and presentation material to effectively communicate technical subject matter to audiences a the working level and at the Senior Management level.
Provide Managerial Technical and Project Leadership to ZF TRW ECU Systems & Safety Engineering Team, and CMC (TCS) electronics engineering Onsite and Offshore Team (Approximately 20 Engineer).
Process Owner for project coordination with CMC America (TCS) Electronics and ZF Indian Technical Center (ITC). Contribute to staffing plans.
Technical: ECU Systems Requirements Specification, ECU Architecture and Safety Design, Worst Case Analysis, Interface Control Document, DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Random Hardware fault Metric, Manufacturing and Validation Test Requirements Document (TRD)
Administrative: Project Management Plan, Project Schedule, Open Issues List, Project Status Report, Resource Planning, Staffing Recommendations (TCS and ZF ITC)
Support key stakeholder meetings and technical reviews.
Some travel may be required domestically and overseas as required. No ongoing or planned travel.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering required.
7-10+ years of automotive experience working with automotive ECUs
Open communication skills, speak efficiently and listen to others
Technical business and product knowledge
Ability to identify risks and issues and to provide appropriate solutions
Knowledge of systems design methods and modeling tools such as Matlab Simulink, Stateflow and Rhapsody
Knowledge about supplied systems components
Knowledge of ISO26262
Ability to identify corrective and preventative actions through disciplined problem solving approach
Knowledge about HW and SW interfaces, as well as the HW and SW architecture
Systems Modelling (SysML, UML, DSL...), Rhapsody
Requirements management (eg. with DOORs
Configuration Management e.g. with MKS and Windchill
HARA, SPFM, LFM, Random HW Fault Metric, FTA, CM/CC analysis
