Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivatedHuman Resources (HR) focused studentwho has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our fast paced Clean Air Manufacturing Facility located in Lansing, Michigan.

As aClean Air HR Intern YOU (1) will be assigned a Mentor to guide, support and coach you throughout your internship experience at Tenneco. (2) Be responsible for supporting the HR Manager and team in accomplishing basic HR Tasks such as (but not limited to) the following:

  • Tracking Attendance.

  • Recruiting.

  • On-boarding.

Required Skills

  • Must be able to work independently and in a Team based environment.

  • Must be able to work full-time during the months ofMay - August

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Must have experience with maintaining sensitive and confidential employment records and/or information.

Required Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student currently enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Business, Business Administration, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

  • Ability to work full-time during the internship period starting in May 2019.

  • Student who resides within a commutable distance of the job site (Lansing, Michigan).

  • Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Student enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate degree with a focus (major or minor) in Human Resources from an accredited institution.
