Job Description

This position will be hands on, interacting, collaborating, and coordinating with colleagues and senior leadership in the Controller’s group, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal and HR, and Operations, to provide technical guidance on strategic business transactions, assessing accounting and reporting ramifications, developing accounting position papers, and determining appropriate conclusions. This position will also play a key leadership role in accounting policy development and maintenance for the enterprise and coordinating with external auditors, as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Lead the company’s technical accounting research, accounting memo and accounting policy authorship, and related enterprise accounting training and development.

  •  Keeps abreast on new accounting pronouncements and assesses impact to the consolidated enterprise.

  •  Work closely with various business leaders to provide guidance on accounting ramifications of strategic transactions and business decisions.

  •  Consults on design of key accounting processes including internal controls evaluation.

  •  Provides interpretation of policies as it relates to highly judgmental areas.

  •  Support the Company’s external reporting function, ensuring that the financial statements and disclosures are in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States.

  •  Participate in the Disclosure Committee on a quarterly basis.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting

  • CPA required

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in technical accounting with a large publicly traded company; Big 4 or second tier national offices experience required.

  • Excellent research skills, comprehension, and ability to simplify the presentation of complex transactions, accounting implications, and make informed suggestions to executive and senior management, non-accountants and other business partners.

  • Excellent organization and problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong leadership in sophisticated functional teams and experience in building relationships across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed CPA a big plus.
