Position Description:

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate raw material forecasts, expediting supply, coordinating logistics, managing supplier compliance and scheduling production for a prescribed group of parts.

Position Requirements:

  • Analyze and maintain target Raw and WIP levels

  • Schedule (or liaise with scheduler) for production lines according to customer requirements and WIP target

  • Minimize changeovers while contributing to reduction of overall past due products to meet customer demand

  • Review material consumption routings for accuracy of counts

  • Work with Customer Liaisons to provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries

  • Create accurate forecasting for rolling 12 months

  • Process/analyze scrap

  • Resolve discrepancies of incoming material vs. ordered material

  • Report supplier non-compliances

  • Maintain and report supplier scorecards

  • Direct warehouse associates to expedite/transfer materials from stock areas to production areas

  • Identify potential material shortages and expedite with suppliers to resolve the risk

  • Maintain supplier contact roster

  • Work with freight forwarders for overseas supplier shipments

  • Surplus/obsolete inventory analysis

  • Work within inventory budget and space constraints

  • Maintain MRP master records

  • Continuously review product/processes to identify potential opportunities to emphasize improvements within material movement and inventory management

  • Maintain SAP data relevant to Customer Requirements

  • Develop cost saving measures for continuous improvement and efficiencies

  • Support HS&E objectives monthly with BBS Observations

  • Support lean production principles

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 4 years of planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing plant required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment required
