Parker's Hydraulic Systems Division in Kalamazoo, MI has a unique opportunity for an individual with a Supplier Development Technical/Engineering background to join our Supply Chain Team.

Responsibilities

This position will work on the Supply Chain/Purchasing department with Suppliers, along with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, and Lean Manufacturing. Specific responsibilities will include strategically manageing supplier relationships. To include:

Development and monitoring of supplier performance criteria, supplier development/ certification initiatives, and product fit. Act as an intermediary to both facility/division and the supplier. Determines and implements corrective actions to resolve impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery, working closely with production and quality. Resolves manufacturing discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues. Facilitates inspections, substitutions and standardization by arranging and participating in conferences between supplier and company personnel. Conducts in depth reviews and audits of supplier systems and performance, and develops plans for improvements in quality, cost reduction and delivery with supplier. Monitors and evaluates supplier’s ability to meet all company and government or commercial procurement requirements and ensure that the pertinent technical and quality issues receive adequate attention in order to ensure compliance. Carry out other duties as assigned to achieve the Win Strategy goals. Identifies, investigates, and recommends potential suppliers; researching parts, equipment, machinery, services and materials availability in coordination with buyer to achieve cost analysis, price justification, and risk assessment of suppliers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field. Manufacturing exposure preferred APQP/Quality background preferred Experience with DFMEA & PFMEA preferred 7+ years experience. Ability to read and interpret technical product drawings, specifications, and work procedures/routing Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts. Green Belt Six Sigma preferred
