Citizens Bank Scrum Master in Johnston, Rhode Island
The Scrum Master within the Enterprise Data Office will play an essential role to the success of the strategy to become a fully agile and vital data organization. You will be determined to our agile pods, to coach and orchestrate the project execution within our strategy work stream projects, and on the other hand to deliver solutions that are in demand from our internal clients such as finance, risk, compliance etc. or from our lines of business commercial and retail banking.
Primary responsibilities include:
Understand agile values and principles and can guide and coach teams, and the organization.
Can guide and coach delivery teams to self-organize and achieve objectives, without assigning or dictating the work.
Can mobilize new teams, in partnership with an agile coach, to agile practices and values.
Facilitate all agile ceremonies efficiently to help team realize the value of the meetings.
Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved
Work effectively with management and team members to clarify needs and plan delivery of major product changes, future versions and new products.
Work to proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, ensuring that they are identified, coordinated, mitigated or escalated as necessary.
Work with Product Owner and Development Team to facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments and ensuring that stories are ‘sprint ready.
Review current agile processes, demonstrate servant-leadership while guiding the team to improve their processes while challenging them to innovate.
Help foster an environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and collaboration.
A clear understanding of agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
Possess great leadership skills to motivate scrum teams to perform at their best.
Good skills and knowledge of facilitation techniques, servant leadership, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Experience with agile PLM tools like JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, etc.
Understanding of backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban based metrics, task definition, and story splitting.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos and retrospectives.
Demonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
Bachelor's degree preferred
CSM or equivalent certification

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
