Tenneco Plant Manager in Jeffersonville, Indiana
Responsible for directing the business, financial, technical, manufacturing and resource functions of the facility. Guides facility in its support of internal and external customer requirements. Directs continuous improvement activities (Lean, Kaizen, BOS, TVM, etc.) and coordinates the development of the facilities people, processes and capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct daily plant activities, including supervision of salaried staff.
Plan and manage all financial aspects of the facility (AOP, capital, etc.)
Plan and manage all quality, environmental health and safety compliance and regulator aspects
Champion of plant continuous improvement activities (BOS, Lean, TVM, Kaizen)
Identify and track key measures to monitor facility/function effectiveness, and set and monitor staff goals and objectives.
Drive development of facilities processes and future capabilities
Ensure all people and customer requirements are maintained to the highest standard.
Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
Overtime as required/requested.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion development of all team members
Interface, planning, visits with customers, engineers, and sales
Champion Strategic Planning team
Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Economics and Accounting – Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Time Management – Managing one's own time and the time of others.
Problem Sensitivity – The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Guiding, Directing and Motivating Subordinates – Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
7-15 years of related business and managerial experience required
Held various levels of management positions with proven proficiency and effectiveness
Ability to motivate others
General understanding of all responsible areas and duties
Communication skills- (meeting with employees, customers, suppliers, corporate offices)
Working knowledge of automotive industry and related systems
Office environment – includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.
Manufacturing environment – includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
Some travel which could include an overnight stay.
Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Manual dexterity for computer work.
Ability to communicate in an effective manner.
