Engineering Lead – Customer Quality (full-time, one position)
ZF Transmissions Gray Court seeks in Gray Court, SC to supervise and manage team of quality engineers responsible managing customer interface for all aspects of product quality. Serve as escalation contact for all customers. Central management of departmental KPIs and deliverables. Responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction in all aspects of quality through achievement of specified deliverables. Understand and comply with quality automotive requirements. Monitor manufacturing processes and assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability, and ability to comply with customer and company specifications. Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework. Interpret prints and measurement tools (GD&T). Oversee manufacturing personnel in proper application of quality systems and tools. Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process. Initiate, complete, and ensure proper conformity of engineering changes to quality standards. Have auditor perspective including being part of solution. Must have Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering or related field, plus two years quality engineering experience. One of the two years must include experience with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing methodologies. In lieu of the above education and experience requirements, we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering or related field, plus five years progressive post-bachelor’s quality engineering experience. One of the five years must include experience with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing methodologies. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel may be required, to be reimbursed by employer.
