Citizens Bank Principal DevOps Engineer in Franklin, Tennessee


Citizen’s Home Mortgage DevOps engineers build and advance automated delivery of next-generation technologies and products leveraged across the organization and eventually industry-wide. Citizen’s Home Mortgage is shaping the future of the mortgage industry and we are looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas including distributed computing at scale, data retrieval and persistence, UI design, mobile, security, artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, and so on. We need our engineers to be versatile, data-driven, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic to tackle problems across the full-stack as we continue to push boundaries and advance our platform.

Primary responsibilites include:

  • Support team activities through seamless, modern product delivery practices, tools, frameworks, etc., and contributes to crafting Quality of Service distributed systems with the team.

  • Support delivery of modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications. Infuse Quality of Service characteristics (scalability, manageability, maintainability, etc) into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities.

  • Bring engineering discipline to all things automation and evangelize best practices

  • Have a customer focus; love of the problem not the solution

  • Collaborate with peers and teams to deliver quality systems


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with Java, Go, Python, Ruby or other object oriented languages and software development environments

  • 3+ years of experience in Continuous Integration, build management and automated deployments, TravisCI, Jenkins, or GitlabCI

  • 2+ years working with container orchestration technologies such as Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Rancher or Mesos

  • 2+ years working with infrastructure automation tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible

  • Ability to solve problems that span multiple interconnected systems

  • Grasp of incorporating health aspects of components of systems for monitoring and metric analysis

  • Interest and ability to learn other technologies and skills as needed

  • A keen grasp of performance concerns

  • The ability to communicate concisely, honestly, and clearly

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Solid understanding of distributed software application development

  • Experience with reactive stream processing

Educational, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

  • A BS degree in computer science, engineering, or similar technical field of study or equivalent experience

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M - F
