Stryker R&D Network Engineer in Flower Mound, Texas
What you’ll do:
In this role, you will be instrumental with the advancement of the technology forward operating room integration market specific to the customer needs.
What you bring:
This role will require working knowledge of LAN/WAN Architecture, LDAP, TCP/IP, DOS, DNS and Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches. You will use your knowledge and expertise of video Encoding and Compression standards to push the limits of performance in the challenging environment of the operating room.
You will bring your networking subject matter expertise to a small team of development engineers working on our next generation Operating Room integration system. Be a key team member who will do both independent and collaborative development work. This is a long-term role which will make decisions to help define the architecture and long-term product roadmap. Optimizing technology for medical applications for key customers, including large teaching hospitals and facilities on the cutting edge of medical technology.

What you have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or other related field
2-5 years related technical experience preferred
Experience with audio/video technologies including, but not limited to: Encoding, Compression, MPEG 1/2/4, H.264, H.323, and IP streaming preferred
Working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, LDAP, TCP/IP, DOS, DNS, layer 2 and layer 3 switches
Working knowledge and understanding of the advanced principles, theories, concepts and practices in network engineering
Ability to analyze network plans and communicate network architecture requirements
Prepares documents to meet project and regulatory needs
Participates in the analysis of requirements
Translates user needs into functional specifications and design outputs
Drives investigation into potential patents
Provides inputs into development estimates regarding own deliverables and deliverables assigned to others
Must be able to clearly communicate complex, technical requirements with project team, management and customer
Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine testing and/or equipment issues using independent judgment
