Assists with all aspects of requirements gathering and analysis, process automation development, and testing. This individual will provide input and recommendations on development tools and participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of application software. The Developer will provide support for production environment change management and exception issues, participate on projects, and create application code (via Process Automation software). Assignments are received in the form of results expected; within operating policies and procedures. No supervisory responsibilities.
Develops application code, queries, scripts, and develops and executes unit tests.
Designs reusable application components.
Participates in the design, development, deployment and post-deployment support of automations.
Provides planning and time estimates for own assignments.
Keeps abreast of technology trends and DTE Energy strategies, standards, and guidelines to select technologies that are appropriate and cost beneficial and applies each to ITS operating procedures.
Mentors Associate Developer; perform code reviews, and explain technical concepts. Participates in system, unit, and regression testing.
Works on multiple teams in a collaborative environment.
Creates/ prepares design documentations.
Required: Associate’s degree or Developer certification (equivalent to 2 years) & 4 years of experience, OR a high school diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in application development and design components.
Preferred: Bachelors degree & 2 years of experience
Preferred: Experience using VBA, C#, or Java.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to recommend and participate in solution implementation in area of responsibility.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills and good oral/written presentation skills.
Broad understanding of IT industry, i.e. emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures, systems design, systems integration, and an in-depth knowledge of accepted IT processes.
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple teams concurrently.
