Description:

Power Electronics D&R Engineer

The Electrified Powertrain Power Electronics D&R Engineer will lead the design and packaging of the next generation of power supply components for future model hybrid electric programs. Responsibilities:

-Lead DCDC Converter design and delivery for next generation electrified vehicles

-Develop in-vehicle package locations for DCDC Converter

-Release components in AVBOM & WERS, report program milestone deliverables

-Manage electrical Device Transmittals (DTs)

-Participate in Design Reviews and Worst Case Circuit Analysis

-Work with HV and LV EDS team for proper wire and fuse sizing

-Work with EESE teams on load sizing

-Manage quality foundation documents including DFMEA, RCL/RDM, DVP&R.

-Phased PPAP process support through supplier visits and sign off

-Support Supplier PPAP process through visits and document review (Control Plan and PFMEA)

-Support launch of vehicle programs, primarily breadboard and M1, AIMS resolution

-Evaluate electrical system engineering alternatives for various attributes, including cost, weight, package, quality, benchmarking, geometry creation & functional analysis

-Interface with various cross-functional organizations in jointly identifying the prime alternative recommendation delivering the best compatible solution for quality, cost, weight and function

-Work with a team comprised of Tier 1 suppliers, purchasing/STA, manufacturing, attribute teams, interfacing teams, and vehicle team.

Requirements:

Skills Required:

-Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

-2 + years experience with vehicle level electrical systems design development process

Skills Preferred:

-Experience in electrical component design and release and/or electrical systems engineering desired

-Ability to coordinate CAD and CAE support

-Ability to work effectively with various functions of a vehicle program

-Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail

-Strong teamwork, organizational, oral communication, and written communication skills

-Proven ability to progress design solutions delivering best compatibility with vehicle targets
