Working with Engineering Director and staff to produce advances in design as well as supporting current product to help reach the overall objectives of the organization.
Responsible for creating new designs and following them from prototype through production release
The candidate shall have the capability to generate robust designs that are optimized with regards to manufacturability, weight and cost
The candidate shall have the capability to generate vehicle general packaging studies (HFE)
Candidate shall possess knowledge and skills in the subject position, and be able to resolve issues and develop feasible solutions using prior experience
Candidate must be a self-starter, highly motivated and work with minimal guidance
Track record of developing innovative design solutions and problem solving
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with various stakeholders by communicating project status, issues and next steps
Working with various CAD and PDM systems including:
NX 11, or newer
Process changes to models and drawings as required
Generate vehicular integration/packaging solutions
Follow corporate and departmental standards & procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Working knowledge of GD&T and descriptive geometry
Familiarity will military specifications and standards
Ability to apply SAE standards regarding H-Point, AHP, seat belt anchorage zones, eye ellipse, obscuration studies, etc.
Ability to complete Chassis component design (CAD), package, platform architecture studies, steering and suspension kinematics studies
Ability to generate Powertrain integration/packaging solutions
NX Human Modeling
NX Vehicle Design Automation
Basic skills with Microsoft Office software
Required CAD Experience:
Min. 15 years’ experience in 3D CAD modeling
Min. 10 years’ experience in component design and packaging
Min. 5 years’ experience with NX, parametric modeling and detailing
Additional Preferred Experience:
Having knowledge of multiple CAD systems is highly desirable
Creo Parametric 2.0 or newer
Vehicle Design Automation (Human Factors)
