Position Summary:

Powertrain Manager leads in the design, development, test, and release of major vehicle powertrain systems and components to meet customer requirements and specifications. Centered around diesel engines and automatic transmissions product design and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads in the design, development, test, and release of major vehicle powertrain systems and components to meet customer requirements and specifications, centered around diesel engines and automatic transmissions product design and development.

  • Interfaces with other product design, systems engineering, prototype parts fabrication, vehicle build-up, test, ongoing development engineering and follow-up of initial and post production in the plant.

  • BoM development and management.

  • Powertrain component, subsystem, system level design, development testing, and release.

  • Conduct component and system level FEA, CFD, 1D cooling/performance based calculations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.

  • Ten years of experiencein the design and release of diesel engines and automatic transmissions.

  • Experience in leading a small engineering team to meet customer and corporate initiatives.

  • Experience with DFMEA, DVP, and production PPAP requirements.

  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter, UG/PLM++, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and senior leadership through the generation of executive briefs.

  • Previous military product development a plus.
