The Job's Mission
The Sr. Analyst FP&A will own and coordinate the Actuals, Projection, Budgeting and Strategic Planning processes for finance, ensuring the financial and calendar targets given are always met. The Senior Analyst will act as a technical lead and define the role of each participant in the process: Divisional finance, Country finance and the European Financial Shared Service Center (EFSSC). Communication with all stakeholders is crucial to meet all deadlines with the desired quality. This position will be responsible for the analysis of the company’s financials forecast including: monthly and quarterly results, revenue and gross profit analysis, current and past trends in key performance indicators and specific accounting areas. This position will support the Medical Finance Director with analysis to manage the EMEA Divisional P&L and better understand the business. Another important aspect of this role is to integrate the 2016 acquired companies PhysioControl and Sage into the Stryker reporting landscape.
This role reports to the Sr. FP&A Manager and requires a strong partnership with the reporting teams across our various countries and with all the business partners. The role has a functional reporting line to the Medical Finance Director.
Key Activities & Accountabilities
Financial Close, Projection and Budgeting Cycle
Interact with Divisional Management and countries on Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts and other financial reporting matters
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the numbers
Coordinate the monthly projection process, which includes: providing guidance to the countries, consolidation of the numbers, coordination of projection calls and preparation of commentary.
Coordinate the annual budgeting process
Hit all Corporate/divisional deadlines; while ensuring there is overall consistency
Play an active role in improving processes and assist in leading process improvement projects relating to the financial close
Center of excellence (both for country finance teams as well as Divisional Finance teams) for standardized reporting, including, but not limited to responsibility for European management pack, Price/Variance analysis , sales reporting, forecast accuracy reporting, trend analysis
Provide EMEA Divisional management with reporting and analysis
Creates the Business Units and BUM’s P/L’s and discusses with the responsible persons on a regular base
Provide weekly top line projections to regional and divisional HQ, as well as variance analysis.
Develop cross-functional partnerships with commercial, planning and operations teams to validate key assumptions.
Formulate business review presentation packages, for divisional leadership.
Standardize European reporting to the maximum extent possible; help leverage European reporting capabilities to assist Country Finance teams as well as divisional finance leads in providing meaningful analysis to the business
Pro-actively set-up trend analysis, KPIs and dashboards to provide to Divisional management as well as work with IT to develop reports
Respond to ad-hoc questions and requests for analysis by European management, Country Finance teams and Divisional Finance leads
Act as backup for Divisional Finance Directors during absence
Communication is key to ensure all stakeholders in the European reporting process are aligned and know their role in the complex processes. Tight corporate deadlines will not be met when this is not managed effectively.
