Position Summary: The ETSI chief of staff enables the ETSI leadership team to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill commitments to Grant Thornton partners and employees in alignment with the firm and strategy set forth for ETSI. This role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical and connectedness skills.

The ETSI chief of staff reports directly into the ETSI Advisory Business Line (ABL) Leader.

Our Enterprise Technology Strategy and Innovation (ETSI) practice consists of Enterprise Technology Strategy, Information Technology Service Management, Digital Innovation and Delivery, and Technology Resource Effectiveness.

Essential duties and responsibilities: * Proactive identification of issues that could impact the successful execution of the ETSI strategy. This responsibility involves elevating those issues about which the ETSI ABL leader should be aware and framing/positioning ideas to resolve the problem/mitigate the risk. The CoS must focus on the underlying interests of the parties working with the ETSI ABL leader, understand their intentions, and creatively identify alternative means of handling pressing matters. * Coordination/orchestration of projects or commitments directly involving the ETSI ABL leader. The CoS is responsible for ensuring alignment across stakeholders and ETSI strategy. The CoS would be responsible for ‘going deep’ on a relatively limited number of projects. The CoS would also need to understand the breadth of the projects across ETSI and ensure cohesive strategy integration. * Serves as a point of contact between top management and employees or other stakeholders regarding ETSI strategy implementation. * Maintains financial operations for ETSI in alignment with the Advisory strategy. * Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence. * Other duties as assigned * Qualified candidates may transition to consulting opportunities within Grant Thornton LLP


The ideal candidate will be:


  • A business-minded leader with ten plus years of experience in leadership positions with demonstrated ability to thrive in a culture that is collaborative, service-oriented, and consultative
  • Highly collaborative and action-oriented; operationally excellent project management skills
  • Able to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 8 - 10 years of related work experience
  • Strong strategic/financial analysis skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
